Detailed Tour Program
Day 01: Arrival Cochin - Munnar (Tea Garden & Hill station) (140 km – 5 hrs Journey).
Welcome from Cochin airport or railway station and transfer to Munnar, one of the well known and famous hill stations of South India. Cheeyappara waterfalls and Valara waterfalls to be enjoyed on the way. Check into the hotel. As the time permits, a visit can be made to some other interesting places near by the hotel and stay overnight at Munnar.
Day 02: Munnar
After breakfast at the hotel, will proceed further for site seeing at Munnar, which include Pothemedu view point,international blossom park, plantation visit which is optional, Mattupetty Dam where Speed boating facilities are available but optional, Echo Point, Kundala Dam, Photo point, Tea museum, Rajamala and (Eravikulam National Park, house of the highly endangered mountain goats - the Nilgiri Thars) etc. There comes an end of the day, which will lead to an overnight stay at Munnar with all the unforgettable memories of the day spent.
Day 03: Munnar –Thekkady /Perriyar (wild life and Spice plantation) (120 km – 4 hrs)
Right after breakfast, will proceed to Thekkady in the morning. Thekkady is famous for the world famous river named Periyar, Tiger reserve and sanctuary one of the best preserved sanctuaries of India. Check in to hotel post which, proceed ahead for the site seeing of Periyar Wildlife sanctuary. (National Park is open between 06:00 hrs to 18:00 hrs daily. Boating is the only way to view the wildlife in Periyar National Park and Boating Timing is between 07:00 hrs to 11:00 hrs and 14:00 hrs. to 16:00hrs.) Plantation tour of 1.30 hours is at any time between 8am to 6pm, Elephant Rides of 30 minutes between 9:00 am to 5.30 pm, Bullock cart ride, Kathakali dance-show, Trekking, Bamboo drafting, Tribal Village visit etc (optional) followed by an overnight stay at Thekkady.
Day 04: Periyar / Thekkady - Alleppey Houseboat (150 kms/ 5 hrs).
After breakfast drive to to Alleppey . 12 noon check into houseboat. Houseboat (Kettuvalloms) is a ingeniously developed and designed private boat with fully furnished spacious bath attached bed rooms, hygiene kitchen ,dining area and private front deck to capture the beauty of the back waters. The cruise through palm fringed narrow canals , the unique life of the backwater people and above all the nature around you will make long lasting impressions in your mind.
Guests can check in at 12noon, we will welcome you with fresh tender coconut water and start cruise after a short introduction, relax and enjoy the canals and rivers and backwater, at 1330 hrs houseboat will stop for lunch , with lavish menu of traditional Kerala cuisine( if your require any special meals like main food in north Indian food without spice etc, it has to be informed in advance).
1430 hrs it will continue its cruise covering beautiful rivers and canals with palm trees and small houses near to it , villages paddy fields, churches, etc, you can get out and get an experience of Toddy( soft liquor made from Coconut it is safe pure and sweet, ) you can also buy fresh prawns or crab or karimeen from local fishermen and give to our chef , who will prepare it for your dinner.
1800 hrs The houseboat will anchor in an isolated area. ( till next day morning 07 30). Most of the time we will stop near the land because , you can also get a chance to go out and walk along the riverside or villages and come back , Evening Enjoy your Dinner and leave all world behind you and have a good sleep in your floating paradise.
0630 hrs Bed tea / Coffee will be provided, enjoy the sunrise and breath pollution free air . Breakfast at 0800 hrs which include bread, butter, jam together with Iddaly Dosa etc.
09 hrs is the time to check out and end of services in houseboat and leave houseboat with an everlasting beautiful memory.
Day 05: Alleppey – Kumarakom (Kerala Backwaters) (50kms /45 mins)
After breakfast checkout from the hotel. Drive to Kumarakom. Kumarakom has been declared a Special Tourism Zone by the Kerala state Government, Kumarakom is a popular tourism destination located near the city of , famous for its backwater tourism. Kumarakom is home to a wide variety of flora and fauna. Kumarakom Bird Sanctuary is a noted bird sanctuary where many species of migratory birds visit. Fishing is mainly done using the small boats (vallams) and gill nets (gear). The main catches are black clam / Karimeen. Check into resort. Day free to visit Bird Sanctuary and enjoy backwaters, Ayurveda and resort activities. Overnight stay.
Day 06: Kumarakom– Cochin departure
If time permits Cochin sightseeing and an on time transfer to Airport/Railway Station to board the connecting flight/train to your home place with everlasting memories of Kerala Trip.
